GMEA District 12 Honor Chorus MP3 files

Please use these instructions instead:
- Go to charmsoffice.com
- Under the ENTER tab, go to the STUDENT section - you will not be able to get in as a TEACHER or HELPER
- The STUDENT area asks for a school code - not a user name and password
- Enter school code... harrisonchorus
- That takes you to our public page - right there under where it has a place to enter a password, look for the button that says HANDOUTS & FILES and click
- Then click the folder called DIST 12 HONOR CHORUS
- And you will see all of the MP3 practice tracks labeled by song and voice part and should be able to download from there

Please let me know if that still doesn't work for you and I will figure out another way to send you the files. Thanks, and sorry for any confusion or trouble with this!

GMEA District 12 Honor Chorus Pertinent Info

GMEA District 12 Honor Chorus Pertinent Info 2011 for our 12 participants... they know who they are!!!

Congratulations!
You have will be participating in the Georgia Music Educators Association’s District 12 Honor Chorus. This is a great honor as only about 150 singers from across our district will be chosen to perform. We will have just one mixed choir this year. You should have recently received your music for the performance; you will need to work on this on your own or with your teacher to become familiar with your parts prior to the first rehearsal. You will have one evening of sectional rehearsals and the rest of the rehearsal process will take place with your conductor for this year’s event: Dr. David Morrow from Morehouse College. This year, our event takes place on Tuesday, November 8th, which is the Election Day Teacher Work Day. So while it is an all day event of a school day, you will not have to miss any school to attend. You will perform a concert for the public at the end of the event. We are combining our concert with the Middle School Honor Chorus, so you will get to hear each other sing, and will perform one combined piece (Danza!) all together at the end of the concert. Feel free to ask your director if you have any questions about the event itself.

Schedule:
Monday, November 7th, Sectional rehearsal, 5:15-8:30pm, Kennesaw Mountain HS, no dinner is included.
Kennesaw Mountain high school
1898 Kennesaw Due West Road
Kennesaw, GA 30152

Tuesday, November 8th, Rehearsal 8:00am-5:00pm, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, lunch and dinner will be served, the cost for your meals is included in your registration fee.
Johnson Ferry Baptist Church
955 Johnson Ferry Rd
Marietta, GA 30068

Tuesday, November 8th, Concert 7:30pm, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, students will need to bring concert attire in the morning (don’t forget shoes, socks, ties, etc) and be sure everything is labeled with your name.

Rules:
 All singers must be present at all rehearsals for the complete rehearsal time in order to participate in the performance.
 Please allow ample time to travel to rehearsals and plan to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time so you can get checked in and find your seat and rehearsals can actually begin right on time. Tardiness to rehearsals will be dealt with on an individual basis by the coordinators, but please keep in mind that the attendance policy clearly states that all singers must be present for complete rehearsals meaning they can not arrive late or leave early.
 We have very limited rehearsal time and will have a great deal of work to accomplish. Please be attentive and respect your peers and leaders during the rehearsal time. Organizers reserve the right to remove a student from the event if their rehearsal behavior is in any way disruptive or unacceptable, or if a singer is unable to handle the musical demands of the event. Students removed from Honor Chorus will not receive a refund.
 Students are expected to follow school dress code for all GMEA events.
 Each student must have with them at each rehearsal their original scores, a black concert folder and a pencil. No gum, food, candy or drinks other than water will be allowed in rehearsal. No cell phones will be allowed in rehearsal. Student MUST turn them off – not to vibrate, but off. Teachers reserve the right to take cell phones from individual students and store them in a safe place if they become a problem.
 Students may choose to wear either their school chorus formal uniform or concert black. Concert black means head to toe black including either a black skirt or black pants and a black school dress code appropriate top or black button down shirt. Please discuss your plans with your director to be sure that everyone from your school is dressed the same.

Event Cost:
Each singer will pay a $30 participation fee (already turned in)! Included in the $30 fee are lunch and dinner during Tuesday’s rehearsal, the cost of your sheet music for the event, recording costs for your rehearsal tracks, venue costs, the fee for our clinician, accompanist and instrumentalists charges, concert recording expenses [the registration fee does not include an individual copy of the recording], printing costs and much more.
We will have the concert professionally recorded, but we will not purchase a copy of the recording for each student and director. Concert CD’s can be ordered directly from Sound Mill Recording during the event. We will not provide dinner during the Monday night rehearsal. You may eat before or after rehearsal or bring a snack you can have during break time.

IMPORTANT- Notes from the Director!

Wheeler Chorus… Notes from the Director:
• Today, Wheeler Chorus Spirit Week has begun. Check out the poster on the Chorus Room door for details.
• Unfortunately, the new uniforms will likely not be delivered in time for our Fall Chorus Concert. Therefore, new chorus students should have brought home yesterday a retired/used uniform to borrow for this upcoming concert. Dresses are machine washable and can be tumble dryed as well. Tux jackets need to be dry cleaned. PLEASE do so prior to and immediately following the concert! Borrowed uniforms need to be returned to the Chorus Room by Friday, 10/21.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, 10/5, Bel Voce members should report to the Chorus Room at 7am. Wear nice Black/White. Be prepared to sing at least two selections (and possibly the National Anthem) for the Principal’s Citizen Meeting in Auditorium at 7:30am. I promise, I’ll have treats for you. It is an honor that we were asked to perform at this event, so let’s do our absolute best!
• Thursday, 10/6, Bel Voce will need to report to class immediately following the 2nd Block bell to walk across to East Cobb MS to perform for their 8th Grade Chorus. Wear Wheeler spiritwear. We will return to campus by no later than 12:10pm.
• Monday, 10/10, Lollipop Sales Begin. An email will be coming from your Wheeler Choral Boosters. Sign-up to participate tomorrow, 10/5, in class.
